BEREA LADIES’ FC TO RETURN TO COMPETITIVE ACTION

Berea — Berea Ladies Football Club (FC) is set to play its first competitive match on Sunday in Quthing, following its previous fixture in Evaton North, South Africa.

In an interview with the Agency, Mr. Lekhooa Thabaneng, founder and chairperson of Berea Ladies FC, stated that the team resumed training on Tuesday in preparation for their upcoming match against Bokamoso Ladies FC.

Mr. Thabaneng expressed confidence in the team’s performance, noting that Berea Ladies FC is expected to secure a victory over Bokamoso FC, having scored at least four goals in each match last season and succeeded in every fixture.

“We are only two matches away from completing the first leg of the season. Following our game with Bokamoso FC, the team will finish the first leg against Kick 4 Life,” he explained.

However, Mr. Thabaneng noted that Berea Ladies FC will be without one of its key players, Nthabiseng Mohlahlobi, who will miss the match due to injury.

Women’s football in Lesotho continues to grow, with clubs participating in organized league competitions aimed at developing talent and increasing competitiveness. Regular matches, including cross-border games, are seen as important for improving team performance, though injuries remain a common challenge affecting squad readiness and results.
