Quthing, August 10 — In an effort to improve mohair production in the country, BKB Lesotho wool and mohair company presented one hundred and eighty does (female goats) to National Wool and Mohair Growers Association (NWMGA) at an event held at Quthing sheep-stud on Friday.
The goats are part of 200 hybrid female goats to be presented to NWMGA and some female sheep to be presented directly to wool-sheds for improvement of wool and production for the benefit of farmers and the country’s economic development.
Speaking at the same event the Direc¹tor Livestock Services Dr. Keneuoe Lehloenya applauded the NWMGA for its outstanding work in promotion of sustainable wool and mohair produce that led to have driven BKB to feel free to vesting in the association for the benefit of Basotho small stock farmers.
Dr. Lehloenya said the department of Livestock Services will continue to work hand in hand with NWMGA which it’s growth good deenostrate that unity is power and people with a common objective easily achieve it through team work, adding that the association has set a good example which similar organizations could follow.
