BOMBINGS TRIAL MOVES TO NEXT WEEK

Maseru, Dec.02— A case in which Former Commander of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli and four army members are accused of the bombings that occurred in 2014 has been postponed to Monday next week for continuation.

The postponement came after 27th state witness Mr. Mofo Setloboko who was in 2014 working as a Forensic Scientist, holding a position of Senior Lab Technologist in the Forensic Laboratory attached to the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) completed his evidence.

The witness has in his evidence, among others, told the court that on January 27, 2014, he and his civilian team attended two crime scenes at Moshoeshoe II and Ha Abia where bombings had occurred. He testified that he collected metal pieces that contained bomb residue and took them for testing. 

He pointed out that following the examination and analysis, he came to a conclusion that the extract contained a compound called plasticizer. He said, when added to an explosive mixture, the compound acts as a catalyst, thus ensuring that there is maximum heat and pressure, resulting in a powerful reaction…
