Maseru, June 07 — A case in which Former Commander of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) Tlali Kamoli together with four army members are accused of involvement in the bombings which occurred in Maseru in 2014 has been scheduled to proceed on July 08-26 2024.
A judge presiding over the matter has previously dismissed an application for his recusal. One of the accused in the matter, Kamoli, filed an appeal against the decision. He among others argued that there is a danger of overlapping in the presentation of evidence to the extent that the judge will be biased.
The appeal was however not successful as the Court of Appeal dismissed it.
Kamoli is charged together with Pisto Ramoepane, Litekanyo Nyakane, Mohlalefi Seithleko and Heqoa Malefane. The charges they are facing comprise attempted murder and malicious damage to property
The bombings are alleged to have occurred at the homes of Maesiah Thabane the then Liabiloe Ramoholi at Moshoeshoe II and Former Commissioner of Police Khothatso Tsooana at Ha-Abia in 2014.
The case is before Judge Charles Hungwe.
