Botha-Bothe, Jan. 24 — Mr. Thabo Shao, a businessman born and raised in Botha-Bothe, has donated 50 pairs of school shoes to vulnerable children at Likhutlong Primary School today.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Shao shared that his late mother’s lesson inspired his donation.
She had taught him that children who lack a complete school uniform often struggle in their studies because they feel different from their peers.
“This donation aims to motivate children to perform well in school without worrying about not having a full school uniform,” Mr. Shao said.
“We’ve noticed the district’s poor performance in the Grade 7 end-of-year results, where we ranked 10th nationwide. After this, we, along with local business partners, decided to visit all seven primary schools in the Botha-Bothe district. We will donate 4,000 pairs of shoes to vulnerable children to inspire them to work hard and succeed. We are also partnering with others to donate sanitary pads to girls at these schools,” he explained. . .
