COMMANDER LDF DIRECTED TO RELEASE SUSPECT

Maseru, Jul.10—The High Court through Justice Malebona Khabo has on Wednesday directed the Commander of the Lesotho Defense Force (LDF) to release Liteboho Mahloane from custody.

This was following a habeas corpus application by Maleseli Mahloane, the wife of Liteboho who asked that the Commander be ordered to produce his body and that he be released from custody. The applicant also asked the court to order that Liteboho be allowed to consult a medical doctor of his choice.

In her affidavit, the applicant stated that her husband was abducted by the LDF members at Lekhalong in Leribe on July 04 2024. She indicated that she later learned that he was at Makoanyane Military Hospital but could not find him…
