Maseru, June 19 — The Commission of Inquiry on the escape of inmates continued to request officers in charge of Maseru Central Correctional Institution (MCCI) to identify officers featured on the footage, who were seen assaulting escaped inmates after being recaptured.
The Officer Commanding MCCI, Assistant Commissioner Tsoto Manaka was called before the Commission on Wednesday to identify some of the officers who were pointed at, as the footage on the assault of the late Bokang Tsoako and Seboka Motumi continued to play.
Assistant Commissioner Manaka was asked to disclose what he saw officers doing and did as asked.
He even confirmed identification of one officer who earlier denied being featured on the footage, kicking and throwing fists at the late Bokang Tsoako as he entered the Sergeant office where he was taken.
