Berea, Nov. 19 — With many places always suffering the impact of severe drought, the National Climate Change Committee (NCCC) Chairperson Mr. Mofihli Phaqane has encouraged the Liotloaneng community to learn climate change adaptation strategies such as conserving available water sources for harsh times.
This has surfaced during the ongoing Berea District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) awareness campaign regarding the climate change and the upcoming predicted normal to above normal rains scheduled for the period of November 2024 to January 2025.
Mr. Phaqane said every time when drought strikes, water sources get affected and as a result people and the animals always suffer the worst consequences.
“Possibly when rivers run dry, animals are going to die and there is a need to develop climate change adaptation strategies,” he explained.
