BISHOPS REQUEST GOD TO CONTINUE BLESSING KING, QUEEN

Mokhotlong, July 16 — The St. Martin’s Roman Catholic Church (RCC) at Makhoaba in Malingoaneng Constituency was occupied to its full capacity by congregants and visitors from different walks of life who came to pray with king Letsie III and members of the Royal family on his birthday anniversary.

The Holy Mass was led by two Bishops namely Bishop Joseph Sephamola of Roman Catholic Diocese of Qacha’s Nek and Bishop John Joale Tlhomola of Mohale’s Hoek Diocese.

Bishop Sephamola said the mass is aimed at praying for the King and to request God bless him with many more years of good health to come.

Congregants sang hymns while others ululated to demonstrate happiness as they welcomed the King and the Royal family at St. Martin’s church.

Delivering the homily to the congregants after the reading of the Scripture quoted from Mathew 11: 28-30 Bishop John Joale Tlhomola also requested God to continue to protect, bless and guide their Majesties in all days of their lives and give them strength as they lead the Basotho nation.

Last month Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso celebrated her 50th birthday anniversary while King Letsie III will be celebrating his 63rd Birthday anniversary on Friday.

He said King is honoured and appreciated for his leadership, humble character, love and dedication on environment protection for the promotion of biodiversity.

Bishop Tlhomola reminded the church that environment protection is a call from God which all should obey.

He therefore urged all to teach children to love and protect the environment and its ecosystem by taking part in activities that include planting of crops and trees as well as to clean it for the promotion of a healthy environment.

The Holy Mass will be followed by the district celebration at Malingoaneng ground where activities of the day will be performed that include speeches and cultural performances by Liphamola community.
