DMA WARNS NATION

Maseru, April16 — The Disaster Management Authority (DMA) has warned the nation to stay away from rivers and ponds.

This was said by the authority’s Assistant Public Relations Officer Ms. Mahlape Koali following the recent rain showers that the country has been facing recently.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Tuesday,Ms. Koali said that rainfalls fill up rivers and ponds which can make it a hazard to people as they can drown while trying to cross over to other sides showing that it is important to stop such trips at this time.

She stated that the authority is also aware of children that fall in rivers and ponds urging their parents and guardians to ensure that they are within their reach all the time.
