EDUCATION STAKEHOLDERS REVIEW PROGRESS

MASERU – Stakeholders in education will review progress during a two-day Joint Education Sector Review in Maseru on  Wednesday.

Professor Ntoi Rapapa, the Minister in the Ministry of Education and Training is expected to open the deliberations officially, the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ms. Mary Mokemane has said.

According to the PRO, this meeting will in line with the 2016 – 2026 Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) review successes, identify challenges in the education sphere as well as seek lasting solutions for education growth.

She alluded that Teachers associations, World Bank as core sponsors of different projects within the education system, UNICEF and WFP amongst others are all expected to partake in this session.

This event comes a few days after the Prime Minister (PM), Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane accompanied by Professor Rapapa handed over four classrooms to a tune of M4.4 million at Matlali Primary School , Berea over the weekend.

Education is reported to be the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) goal four, a clarion call aiming to strengthen and ensure inclusive and equitable quality education while also enhancing life long opportunities for all.

These set of goals were adopted in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda, this represents a universal commitment to improving education worldwide, with a focus on reducing education barriers.
