Maseru, Aug.29–Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations says whoever represents the Kingdom of Lesotho in any deals or agreements with foreign countries gets credentials from the said ministry.
Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane said this following the controversy where the leader of United Africans Transformation (UAT) Dr. Mahali Phamotse sent 24 Basotho students to Synergy University in Russia and on the university official website it has been reported that the agreement was signed between the university and “Lesotho Minister of Education” Dr. Mahali Phamotse.
He said they are surprised that Dr. Phamotse has been referred to as Minister of Education, yet she is not saying this means the agreement was done under false pretence.
He highlighted that as ministry of Foreign Affairs they have never given her credentials to commit the Kingdom of Lesotho to any agreement with Synergy University…AT/BM
