FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER ATTENDS SADC MINISTERS MEETING 

Maseru, Aug. 15 — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane, led Lesotho’s delegation to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Council of Ministers Meeting held in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

The meeting, which brought together foreign ministers and other senior government officials from SADC member states, convened to review progress on the implementation of regional programmes, assess reports from various SADC institutions and prepare recommendations for consideration by the Heads of State and Government during the 45th SADC Summit.

In his capacity as head of the Lesotho delegation, Minister Mpotjoane participated in deliberations focused on advancing regional integration, promoting peace and security and strengthening economic cooperation among member states. The discussions also covered strategies to address pressing challenges such as climate change, food security, youth empowerment, and sustainable development within the region.

The Council of Ministers Meeting served as a critical platform for aligning national priorities with the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan and ensuring coordinated action towards the community’s shared vision of socio-economic transformation.
