FORMER LIKUENA COACH DIES

Maseru, Feb. 02 — The former Lesotho senior national side Likuena Coach Mr. Moses Maliehe has died following a long illness.

This has been confirmed by the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) Media Officer Mr. Mikia Kalati in an interview on Friday.

He told the Agency that the Maliehe family has informed the Association about the sad news that Mr. Maliehe succumbed to the long illness this morning.

“It is with a very solemn and heavy heart that I inform you about the passing away of Mr. Moses Maliehe, the former Lioli FC Player and Coach, Matlama FC Coach and the National U20, Reserve Team (B-Team known as the Special Force to many) and Likuena Head Coach’ the circular from the Lesotho Football Association,” said.

It noted that Mr. Maliehe passed away this morning after a long illness and that in light of the above, all the matches played under the auspices of the Lesotho Football Association are hereby ordered to observe a moment of silence in respect of Mr. Maliehe starting this weekend until the date of burial which shall be communicated to all in due course.

The soft spoken Mr. Maliehe besides having featured for Lioli FC he also played for Vaal Reefs Stars and Klerksdorp City among other South African teams.

He was born on February 03 in 1966.
