GENDER GETS RED FLAG

Maseru, Mar. 24 — The Committee of Supply has on Monday deferred the 2025/26 budget allocation for the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development to allow the amendment of Sebabatso procurement procedure.

The ruling was made by the Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane after the majority of Members of the National Assembly argued that the Ministry did not follow the right procurement procedure with regard to the Sebabatso program.

In his argument, a member of the Portfolio Committee on Social Cluster Mr. Remaketse Sehlabaka clarified that they warned the Ministry that it did not follow the right procurement procedure by taking the government funds to the UNDP for operations of the Sebabatso program…
