HEALTH MINISTRY MARKS CERVICAL CANCER ELIMINATION IN STYLE

Qacha’s Nek, Nov.17 — The Ministry of Health through its health facilities in the district have today celebrated cervical cancer elimination action day.

The celebration started with fun walk from the District Administrator’s office to Melele ground aimed at cervical cancer awareness raising followed by screening and treatment of cervical cancer together with Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination for children aged 9 – 15 years.

Women of child bearing age and beyond 50 years took part in the initiative.

Speaking on behalf of the Director General, Dr. Kabelo Mputsoe, the Clinical Radiation Oncologist in Lesotho said November 17 was marked by the World Health Assembly in 2018 calling for member states to act against cervical cancer. . .
