GIRLS ENCOURAGED TO TAKE HPV VACCINE

Maseru, Sept. 07– The Ministry of Health has encouraged young girls between the age of nine and 14 to take Human Papillomavirus vaccine aimed to prevent cancer-causing infections and precancers.

In an interview with the Public Relations Officer in the Ministry Mrs. Mateboho Mosebekoa, she told the Agency that the ministry has embarked on vaccinating young girls at schools country wide.

She said vaccination is the second shot of vaccination following the first one that they took at the beginning of the year, adding that the vaccination is accessible to all health centres within districts.
