Qacha’s Nek, Aug.06 — In commemoration of Breastfeeding Week, key stakeholders led by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition (MAFSN) embarked on a week-long nutrition education initiative in Mosafeleng.
This program targets nutrition clubs, breastfeeding mothers, and local authority leaders.
The commemoration, which started on Monday, includes training and demonstrations on feeding practices, hygiene, and household food production for nursing mothers, caregivers, and communities leading up to the main event scheduled for Friday.
Speaking to the Agency on Tuesday, MAFSN District Nutrition Officer (DNO) Ms. Lebohang Nthake said that the leading ministries, through their nutrition departments, decided to host this year’s event in Mosafeleng due to increased stunting rates among children under five, resulting from poor feeding practices. . .
