Botha-Bothe, Aug. 22 — Five men are currently in police custody for stealing 110 bags of cement from China Geo camp valued at M11,000.
The five men are, Motsoloane Lebitsa (32) of Ha Abia Maseru, Mahlomola Mpeli (40) of Makhunoane, Malefane Pokaetsi (37) of Ha Leshoele, Tsietsi Ralithakong (27) of Qacha’s Nek and Motseki Mahoana (26) of Sheesha.
According to the court papers these men appeared before Botha-Bothe Magistrate court and are accused of contravening the provisions of section 57(1)(2)(a) read with section 109 of the Penal Code Act No.5 of 2010 (theft).
It continues to show that on August 15, 2023 the accused unlawfully and internationally stole 110 bags of BPC cement from China Geo property.
The five were granted bail of M1000 each which they all failed to pay and are now in police custody. They will appear in court again on August 29, 2023.
On the other hand, Nthunya Sefale (37) of Ha Sechele has been charged by Botha-Bothe Magistrate court for contravening the provisions of section 13(3)(d) of Stock Theft Amendment Act of 2003.
Sefale is said to have stolen a white ram belonging to Ts’eliso Lekota on August 16, 2023 valued at M7000. According to police the accused was arrested by the public immediately after slaughtering the ram.
The accused was granted bail of M1,200 which he failed to pay and is awaiting trial in jail. He will appear again in court on August 30, 2023.
