Maseru, July 26 — King Letsie III commissioned Mr. Ntsime Jafeta as Lesotho’s High Commissioner to South Africa during a ceremony held at the Royal Palace on Wednesday.
In his commissioning speech, the King congratulated Mr. Jafeta on his new assignment, expressing hope that he will represent the government of Lesotho and Basotho with dignity and humility in neighbouring South Africa.
He wished him well saying Lesotho is committed towards promoting relations existing between the mountain kingdom and other countries of the world.
Similarly, Mr. Jafeta promised to deliver his charge to the best of his abilities so as to cement relationships that exist between Lesotho and South Africa.
In addition, he mentioned that he will remain aware of Lesotho’s aspirations, expressing appreciation to the King, the government and the Minister of Foreign Affairs for rendering him support.
Present at this ceremony included the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane and senior officers in the Ministry including Mr. Jafeta’s family.
