KING GRACES KHOMARI’S BURIAL SERVICE

Maseru, June 06 — The Head of State, King Letsie lll joined mourners during burial service of the late Mr. Ts’eliso ‘Frisco’ Khomari held at Bambatha Ts’ita Sports Arena on Saturday.

The 72 year-old former civil servant, academia and a super star in sporting activities that include football and table tennis according to veterans, met his untimely death at his home a few days ago due to car accident. He was laid to rest at Kokobela village.

The King who echoed words of comfort and healing to the nation, particularly Khomari’s family said he is comforted as he has seen Mr. Khomari’s wife and children having duly found strenght in God. “What has happened has caused all of us confusion, we are asking ourselves why this at this time.”

Even so, he appealed to Basotho as Christian community to build on their faith as the sudden death of Mr. Khomari has taught all that God has his own ways of doing things, the more reason why the hidden belongs to God and Him alone.

He also thanked veterans in football for having spoken words of hope during memorial service of the late Frisco earlier this week, who has played for several soccer teams nationally, especially School Boys which is cherished by King, hence basis of affection between the pair.

This, the King stated forced him to call a friend, counsellor and Priest so that he could help him make sense of what has happened (tragic death). Through the sessions, the King said Bible verses were quoted including words such as the hidden things belong to God while known are for those living.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane comforted the bereaved family saying he has known and lived with Mr. Khomari asking God to forgive sins the late Mr. Khomari committed while on earth.

Meanwhile, the Principal Chief of Matsieng, Seeiso Bereng Seeiso said for the first time he has no words, asking God to speak on his behalf as he regard this death ‘mystery.’ May God comfort even the driver involved in the act. He noted he will be remembered for showing the nation how sports can contribute in building this nation if handled well.

Frisco’s friend also known as Tycoon, Mr Lebeko Nots’i mentioned he met the deceased in 1969 when he was School Boys football team captain. He alluded that he will be remembered as a soccer super star who always held a cup as a sign of victory with all teams he has played with locally and in South Africa.

The deceased children led by Majoro Khomari narrated how their father departed having been tragically hit by a car that had brought him invitation card at his home, thereby losing a lot of blood.

“You left us with trauma, we have so many questions yet to be answered, we promise to support your wife,” another child echoed.

Other opinions emanating from mourners include their dissatisfaction that they learnt the death of their relative through social media, hence believe it is important to go back to the roots of being Basotho where death was honoured and respected.

The deceased is said to have been born on November 10, 1954 in Maseru, he is the third child amongst eight of the late Mr. and Mrs. Khomari.

The Public Administrator holds Master of Public Administration (MPA) and has studied at NUL and University of Southern California (USA).

He is married to Lerato now Mrs. ‘Mamoloanta Khomari and both are blessed with four sons, two daughters in law and six grandchildren.
