MASERU, June.02 — The Mofumahali oa Tlholo Roman Catholic Church has held a special Holy Mass on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the 50th birthday of Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso with congregants, government officials and members of the royal family joining in prayer and thanksgiving.
The Mass was led by Bishop John Joale Tlhomola saw the day’s readings from 2 Peter 3:12-15, 17-18 and Mark 12:13-17.
Delivering the homily, Bishop Tlhomola said that the Queen’s milestone birthday coincides with the biblical significance of a jubilee which symbolises healing, reconciliation and new beginnings.


He noted that reaching the age of 50 is a testament to God’s grace and faithfulness, reflected through years marked by joy, sorrow, challenges and triumphs.
“The journey of 50 years is a demonstration of God’s abundant grace. It is a journey that has witnessed moments of happiness and trials but above all, one that has been characterised by dedication to faith and service,” he said.
Bishop Tlhomola further stated that the occasion provides an opportunity to reflect on the many sacrifices the Queen has made in fulfilling her responsibilities to the nation, her family and the church.
Extending his best wishes, he prayed that the years ahead would be filled with renewed mercies, wisdom and continued love.

He also wished the Queen renewed strength to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to her and guidance as she continues to serve the nation alongside His Majesty King Letsie III.
The Holy Mass formed part of celebrations marking Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso’s golden jubilee with Basotho from different walks of life gathering to honour her life, faith and service to the Kingdom of Lesotho.
