Maseru, Aug.10 — The Ministry of Labour and Employment has warned members of the public against a fake job circular circulating on social media platforms, purporting to advertise vacancies within the Ministry.
Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Monday, the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Maqalika Matsepe said that the circular is false and is intended to mislead and confuse members of the public.
He mentioned that the purported circular advertises temporary and part-time positions, including work-from-home opportunities and claims that applicants would not be required to submit supporting documents.
He indicated that the circular further promises applicants remuneration of M200 per hour, which is not part of any genuine recruitment process by any agency.
Mr. Matsepe urged members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid responding to suspicious job advertisements particularly those circulating through unofficial platforms.
He also advised people seeking employment opportunities to verify information through official channels before submitting personal information or documents.
The Ministry has appealed to the public to report any suspicious recruitment information to its Public Relations and Communication Office.
