LANGHAM PREACHING DAY PROMOTES BIBLE EXPOSITION

MASERU, July 04 – Christians in Lesotho joined believers around the world on Saturday to celebrate Langham Preaching Day, with a renewed commitment to promoting the Word of God through faithful preaching and discipleship.

Langham Preaching Day is an annual event that brings together Langham partners and churches to celebrate and strengthen the ministry of Bible exposition.

The event aims to encourage faithful preaching and equip Christians to grow in their understanding of God’s Word.

Speaking during the celebration, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Coordinator of the movement, Reverend Dr. Joseph Morenammele, said the occasion marks the continued growth of Langham Preaching in the region. He said more than 1,000 people from different churches across the SADC region participated virtually in the celebration, reflecting the movement’s commitment to spreading the Gospel and strengthening the Church.

Reverend Dr. Morenammele said such gatherings help Christians appreciate the importance of building their lives on the Word of God while encouraging churches to remain united in advancing the mission of Christ. He said growing the Church and building strong disciples require believers to work together and speak with one voice in promoting the Gospel.

He added that preaching the Word of God remains the core mission of Langham Preaching, saying members have spent the week participating in various activities, including virtual sessions, aimed at equipping and encouraging preachers.

Reverend Dr. Morenammele said the movement was founded in England more than 40 years ago by the late Reverend Dr. John Stott, whose vision was to promote faithful biblical preaching and discipleship throughout the world.
