LCS RESOLVES FINE FOR ESCAPED INMATE IN SOUTH AFRICA

Maseru, Jan. 20 — In the aftermath of a significant prison break involving six inmates at the Maseru maximum prison, the Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS) has made headlines by settling a fine for one of the escapees, Bokang Molengoane, in Bloemfontein, South Africa (SA).

Assistant Commissioner (Ass. Com.) Pheko Ntobane, the spokesperson for LCS, confirmed the development, revealing that following the escape in December of the previous year (2023), LCS launched an intensive search operation. While five of the escapees were successfully apprehended, Bokang remained at large, facing charges related to the smuggling of electric cables.

This month (January), LCS received information indicating Bokang’s presence in Bloemfontein, SA. Following the lead, LCS tracked him down and successfully apprehended him at his sister’s residence. . .
