LDF HONOURS PRIME MINISTER’S PLEA

Mohale’s Hoek, July 29 — The Lesotho Defence Force Public Relations Officer Lieutenant Colonel Sakeng Lekola has noted that the presence of LDF bootcamp youth in operation Hloekisa Lesotho on Friday, was in line with Prime Minister Sam Matekane’s plea to clean towns on the last friday of every month.

This transpired in an interview with the Agency whereby Lieutenant Colonel Lekola highlighted that the role of LDF is to instill patriotism in youth, hence boys and girls who are in the bootcamp were allowed to partake in the operation.

The operation was graced by the presence of  the  member of  parliament from Mpharane no. 60 Honourable Zisakhele Mdlokovana who expressed his disappointment about the low turn out which he  noted caused a setback on the operation.

Mr. Mdlokovana however articulated that the district authority will have a meeting to discuss ways in which business owners could be forced to be part of the operation as some of the mess comes from their businesses.

Operation Hloekisa Lesotho is an initiative by the government of Lesotho to encourage cleanliness in towns and it was re-launched by the Honourable Prime Minister Sam Matekane in April 2023 following Cabinet’s decision to revitalize it.
