LENYOLOSA  JAILED FOR HOUSEBREAKING

Qacha’s Nek, Jan.08 – Magistrate Monyake Mahlehle today sentenced the 25-year-old  Kananelo  Lenyolosa to a fine of M2,000 or one year in prison for housebreaking.

With no payment made at the court, Lenyolosa was taken into custody to serve the jail term.

Magistrate Mahlehle emphasized that the sentence aims to deter both the offender and the public from committing similar crimes.

He explained that the Penal Code stipulates fines ranging from M1,000 to M5,000 or imprisonment of up to six years for such offenses.

“Considering the value of the stolen property which totalled M1,700, M2,000 or one year in jail is appropriate,” he stated, adding that the stolen items must be returned to their rightful owner…
