Maseru, July 24 — With the ongoing United States (U.S) tariff uncertainties, Lesotho is facing harsh economic pressures as one of its big mines, Lets’eng Diamonds is set to cut jobs.
This is according to a press statement released by the mine that they are implementing cost-cutting measures to conserve cash, protect shareholder value and the sustainability of the operation.
The company indicates that it is going to reduce the workforce by 20 percent aligned with scale back waste mining operations and other necessary operational changes.
It adds that they have already started engaging employees and stakeholders to ensure that the rationalization process is responsibly and transparently managed.
