LIFTING HOUSEHOLDS OUT OF HUNGER  – MOLAHLI

Mokhotlong, July 04 — Auxiliary Social Worker in the Ministry of Gender Youth and Social Development in Masaleng says, the government’s grant seeks to lift needy households out of poverty and hunger.

Ms. Senate Molahli said this during dispensation of Public Assistance (PA), Disability Grant (DG), Child Grant Programme (CGP) as as well as M1500.00 top up grant for uniform covered under World Bank Basic Education Strengthening Education Project (BESP).

The Auxiliary Social Worker expressed disappointment to some parents and guardians whom she said instead of using the money to lift households out of poverty including buying uniforms for orphaned children, they misuse the grants and use them for purposes not intended such as buying alcohol.

She informed the gathering that when schools reopen, the Ministry of Social Development together with the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) will visit schools in an attempt to make follow-ups on the lives of beneficiaries.
