Maseru, Oct. 13 — The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has instructed the Chairperson of Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC) Board to undo the appointment of LNDC Internal Auditor as she did not meet requirements.
The instruction was given by PAC Chairperson Mrs. Machabana Lemphane Letsie in a meeting with LNDC, saying the position required someone who holds a Masters Degree in Internal Audit or Master Degree in Accounting or Chartered Accounting (CA) and must be an active registered member of Institute of Internal Auditors as per advertisement.
However she said LNDC’s Internal Auditor holds Chartered Accounting (CA) which is the third option of the requirements and that she is not a member of Institute of Internal Auditors , asking if there was really no one who applied for the position and did not hold the mentioned qualifications.
“‘The Corporation could have re-advertised the position if the people who applied did not meet requirements” she stressed.
