Mafeteng, July 10 — A 49 year-old Moeketsi Lefu of Matelile Ha Setlakotlako has apeared before the Mafeteng Magistrate Court for contravening with section 8 (1) of Sexual Offences Act No. 3 of 2003.
According to the charge sheet the convict on August 06, 2023 intentionally, wrongfully and unlawfully decided to sexually abuse his step daughter (16) by proposing a love affair from her and beating her when she refused.
It further stated that the convict for several times during the absence of his wife proposed love to his daughter and massaged her while brushing her all over the body including touching her thigh and private parts, claiming that he is working hard for her survival but she was refusing him but walking around with boys and sleeping with them and they are giving her nothing in return.
It showed the complainant that day was seen crying taking the direction to the center of the village where some of the villagers asked her why she was crying and explained what happened then took the convict to the Area Chief who then reported the matter to Matelile Police hence his arrest and conviction.
The convict has been given a bail of M500.00 on condition that he attend his remands and is expected to be back in Mafeteng Magistrate Court August 23, 2023 for second remand.
The case is before Senior Resident Magistrate Nkuebe Ramabele and is prosecuted by Public Prosecutor Michael Senatla.
