MEC CANDIDATE FAILS TO BE SWORN IN

Maseru, Oct 23 – Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane says a candidate for the Movement for Economic Change (MEC) who is next on the list of Proportional Representation (PR) could not be sworn in on Monday as has been scheduled.

Mr. Sekhamane said the reason for not swearing this person whom he did not mention his name was due to the pending court case challenging his swearing in.

‘’I have received a court order preventing this person from being sworn in as the new Member of Parliament for this House,’’ he explained.

Mr. Sekhamane therefore stated that this MEC candidate will wait for being sworn in after the Case in the high court has been completed in the courts of law.
