MEN’S SEASON STARTS ON A HIGH NOTE

QACHA’S NEK – August reflects Basotho New year, not leaving behind the happiness in both woman and manhood when the season starts, approving initiation schools to be open.

Qacha’s Nek is not an exception in all of this.

In an annual event hosted at Ha Ratsoleli’s Principal Chief’s office granting permission to those who have requested initiation sites, more than 15 Basotho women and men were approved to open initiation schools this season.

Letters were offered by Chief Makoko Makoae on behalf of Principal Chief Mojela Theko Makhaola.

In this meeting, the Lesotho Mounted Police Service and the Health department took part to educate and remind these people the responsibility and accountability expected from them.

The District Assistant commissioner (DAC) Thembinkosi Sibanda stated, that now that the season have started the ball remains in everyone’s court, from Ramophato, mesuoe, parents and the community at large.

DAC Sibanda also added that only legally aged children should be the ones attending this school, meaning children at 18years and above reason being to give them enough time to be part of formal school, without any fear of going back to school or having to write exams before.

“I have specifically pointed the issue of age limit because it causes us a lot of trouble,” said DAC Sibanda.

Furthermore, the LMPS also indicated a point of working together as a team in crime prevention, as it occurs in many factors considering groupies. . . .
