MINES CONTINUE OPERATIONS DESPITE HARSH WEATHER

Botha-Bothe, June 3 — The two mines located in the Botha-Bothe district have reported that operations continued during the past two days of harsh weather conditions.

In an interview with the Agency, Storm Mountain Diamonds’ Sustainability Manager, Mrs. Malehlohonolo Mojaki said the mine has prepared for emergencies and adverse weather to ensure operations are not affected.

She explained that upon realizing it was snowing and after the Disaster Management Authority advised against long-distance travel to the mountains, the mine halted the team that was scheduled to travel. The plan is for the team to reach the mine today after assessing the safety of the roads leading to the site.

However, Mrs. Mojaki noted that there have not been any emergencies in the past two days, and operations have continued smoothly.
