Qacha’s Nek, Dec. 15 — Realeboha Mohapi 26, of Thifa has been sentenced to 10 years in prison without the option of a fine for armed robbery by the Qacha’s Nek Magistrate Court.
Senior Magistrate Ts’eliso Bale in delivering the judgment noted that although Mohapi is not a first-time offender and had saved the court’s time, the crime particularly shocked the community.
“The offence is however a shocker in this locality and is serious in nature. A message has to be sent to curb any further similar acts,” Bale stated.
The court heard that on December 8, 2024, Mohapi and his accomplice, Ts’epang Ranthokolo of TJ, attacked 25 years old Reitumetse Kao. The two men held Kao at knifepoint, threatened to kill him and debated whether to do so.
