MONEY UP FOR GRABS

Qacha’s Nek, Feb.12 — The U.S. Embassy has today announced the availability of approximately M13m ($70 000) economic support funds to improve basic and economic conditions of Basotho countrywide.

According to Ms. Hopolang Monyamane, Special Projects Assistant, this 2024 open competition funding program titled U.S.Ambassador’s Special Self Help (SSH) allows them to respond quickly to local requests for small community based development projects involving schools, clinics, cooperatives and associations amongst others.

She said it provides a one-year grant to eight community groups that are working towards village’s betterment. 

The application deadline is April 23, 2024.

She said cost sharing is an eligibility factor for this grant whereby the beneficiaries are expected to pledge 10 percent funds, material or labour while the Embassy pays 90 percent. . .
