MORE PENSIONERS REGISTERED FOR MOBILE PAYMENTS

Mafeteng, May 13 — The Ministry of Gender, Youth, Social Development will continue to register elderly earning pension under local mobile networks to receive their monthly benefits.

In an interview with the District Senior Welfare Officer Mr. Bernard Mokhachane said they piloted for the said method of paying within nine pay points in 2022 whereby some did not understand the method.

Mr. Mokhachane highlighted that about 67 percent of the elderly earning their pension through electronic method using Mpesa and Ecocash and they are left with only 30 percent of those who are not yet registered and the ministry still had to send officials on monthly basis. . .
