MOSOTHO MAN’S CORPSE RECOVERED IN DISUSED MINE SHAFT

Maseru, Feb. 18 — Limpopo, South African Police Service (SAPS), launched an investigation following the discovery of a male’s body buried in a shallow grave at Zwartkrans illegal mine near Makapans Valley.

Members of Vala Umgodi Operations on their daily assignment of combating illegal mining activities received information about the male’s body buried in a shallow grave at the illegal shaft that is suspected to be Lesotho national.

According to South African reports, Limpopo SAPS Spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba said that upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered the body covered with large rocks.

He further said immediately after the discovery, the Rescue Team which consists of SAPS and Emergency Medical Services (EMA) and Mogalakwena Mining Company, commenced the following day using the relevant equipment and other resources.
