NATIONAL ADAPTATION PLAN TO MINIMISE CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACT – MOSITO

Maseru, Oct. 22 — The Ministry of Defence, National Security and Environment is currently engaged in the National Adaptation Plan aimed at reducing the impact of climate change in the country.

Project Coordinator, Mr. Neo Mosito told the Agency on Sunday that the National Adaptation Plan is a custodian of the Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) under the Ministry Natural Resources.

He said other stakeholders which are playing a pivotal role in the National Adaptation Plan are the Ministries of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition, since climate change negatively affects food security.

Mr. Mosito mentioned many government ministries such as Local Government, Chietainship, Home Affairs and Police through community councils and the Public Works and Transport which specialises in roads construction and buildings.
