NO ONE CAME – HOODI

Qacha’s Nek, Dec.04 — As the Disaster Management Authority (DMA) relaunches the second phase of grains (maize, wheat and beans) purchasing, Food Management Unit (FMU) Warehouse Assistant, Mrs. ‘Marethabile Hoodi says none of the local farmers showed up today.

Speaking to the Agency, she said farmers however promised to come along the week.

“I was expecting to see some today but since it is the first day today, I am still hopeful that tomorrow they will come as some returned with their grains during the first phase as we had already met the target,” she said.

Ms. Ithabeleng Koneshe, District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) said the district office announced the initiative through their communication channels on December 01, 2023.

This is the same day Ms. Mahlape Koali, DMA Assistant Public Relations Officer issued a press release informing the public. . .
