This, she said in an interview with the Agency, following grievances regarding absence of number plates in Maseru district, whereby motorists complained that it has been a while since the Ministry issued them and that they face a challenge when going to South Africa using temporary number plates which the Ministry provides in the meantime.

Mrs. Ntsékhe said there was a problem of some queries during the payment process for number plates issuance and this caused a delay, emphasizing that the problem has been solved and they will soon be issued in Maseru district.

In another issue, she said printing of traffic commissioner’s documents, which was halted by Government Printing a few months ago has commenced.

She therefore emphasised that an announcement will be made when all the above mentioned documents, including number plates are available’.

Meanwhile, motorists were given temporary number plates which are valid for six months and renewable when number plates are still not issued.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport was established with the aim to have a safe, efficient, effective and well developed transport system and build environment that promotes economic growth and reduces poverty.
