OVER 300 QACHA’S NEK RESIDENTS RECEIVE FOOD AID

Qacha’s Nek, Sept. 03 — The Qacha’s Nek Disaster Management Authority (DMA) distributed beans to more than 300 residents from Kampong, Hillside and Mapheleng on Wednesday.

The food distribution held at the district’s Food Management Unit (FMU) came as a vital lifeline for families struggling with the prolonged drought. Each resident received 12.5 kilograms.

Speaking to the Agency, Mrs. ’Mats’itso Motemekoane, Disaster Manager at Qacha’s Nek DMA, explained that the beans were recently purchased locally as part of ongoing drought relief efforts.

She noted that distributions have included rice, wheat, sorghum, and beans, with some areas receiving different combinations.
