PALM SUNDAY CELEBRATED

Maseru, April 13 — Some Christians were today seen holding palms in commemoration of a  moveable feast otherwise ‘Palm Sunday’.

According to Christian calendar, particularly for Churches recognising this day including Catholics, it is said that this day falls on the Sunday prior Easter hence many were seen coming from while others were going to Church.

Therefore, this feast remembers Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem as according to Canonical Gospels, thus marking the first day of the Holy Week.

The Agency interviewed some Christians who included amongst others males and females of different age groups. Mr. Mphosi Makhetha of Maria ‘Maligrasia Catholic Church based in Maseru highlighted the importance of this day in reviving their spirits. AM/TL
