PARLIAMENTARIANS AGAINST IEC WISH

Maseru, Aug. 28 – Some members of the  National Assembly stood with similar points of orders indicating the Independent Electoral commission (IEC) should not be on re-registration of voters’ campaigns as amendments have not been made yet.

Speaking in the House on Wednesday, the Minister of Justice and Law, Mr. Richard Ramoeletsi said he has established that the IEC is now using national identity documents to register voters.

He explained that points of orders by some members are correct as what IEC is doing is part of what the House is working on within the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution Bill, 2024 that is the Electoral Act 2011 amendment.
