Mohale’s Hoek, Oct. 21 — A 42 years old Police Constable (PC) Khampepe Moletsane who is stationed at Liphiring police post is expected to be back in court on November 05 charged with an alleged murder of one Rotang Tiheli by shooting him with a pistol on his body.
The accused appeared shortly before the court where the charge and his rights were read, and the court informed him that it is not within the jurisdiction to listen to the bail application, and that he will have to apply for bail at the High Court, while prosecution informed the court that investigations in the case are still underway, and Moletsane has been remanded in custody.
On the other hand, an officer commanding the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Inspector Moeketsi Sehau, indicated that in the early hours of Saturday he received a call from the accused, noting he got into an argument with the deceased at a bar at Ha Mohalinyane, and had shot him, but was not sure whether the latter was still alive or not.
Inspector Sehau asserted that unconfirmed reports indicated that in the heat of the argument, the accused is reported to have hit the deceased with beer grade, who in return hit the latter with a fighting stick, and it is not yet clear as to who ran away first after the incident, and confirmed that indeed investigations are still on going.
