Maseru, Oct. 25 – The Prime Minister, Mr. Samuel Matekane handed over fifty one (51) vehicles to Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) at PTC on Wednesday.
The 51 vehicles comprise of 4 × 4s and motor vehicles and it is expected that an additional 24 vehicles are on the way to make a total of 75.
In his remarks, the PM said these cars are meant to address the long outcry in relation to shortage of resources, thus anticipating will go a long way in tackling different crimes. “Our vision is to ensure that every police post should have its own vehicle”.
He appreciated LMPS members, saying despite shortage of resources and other challenges they face daily, they have shown servanthood by serving the public.
