POULTRY BAN AFFECTS BUSINESS

Maseru, Oct.25 — Ban on poultry products especially chicken is already immensely impacting business particularly those selling it.

Import of poultry products from South Africa was banned earlier this month due to birds’ flu to prevent infection which could negatively affect poultry produce of Basotho.

Speaking in an interview, Mrs. ‘Mamokhele Sentebale, Manager of one of the KFC outlets in Maseru said that this has affected their business saying that they have reduced operating hours. She said that their operating hours are from 08:30am to 10pm but due to shortage of chicken they are now operating from 11am to 7pm saying this a great loss to the company.

Mrs. Sentebale pointed out that Wednesday could be the last day they open as the stock they have might only last today.
