Maseru, Oct. 29 — Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church has appealed for all people to pray for peace in the world.
The Pope expressed concern that the escalation in violence is petrifying and pleaded that it may stop and that respect for the sacredness of human life becomes top priority.
He was speaking from St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, indicating that every day the first hit is on the civilian population, innocent victims seen in the terrible images of children who are slaughtered daily.
The Pontiff cited Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon and other African countries as the hot spots of violence.
