POULTRY PRICES TO INCREASE

Maseru, Oct. 19 – Ban on Poultry Products from South Africa (SA) due to bird flu, which has hit that country means poultry prices in the country will increase as per demand and supply law.

This was said by Consumer Protection Association President Mr. Nkareng Letsie in an interview with the Agency on Thursday.

Mr. Letsie said if there is shortage in supply, demand becomes high and so do prices, saying this will be the case in poultry products.

He said in order to protect local poultry, the country has made a good move in banning poultry products from SA to prevent infection which could negatively affect poultry produce of Basotho.
