QACHA’S NEK JOINS NATIONAL PUSH AGAINST MEASLES-RUBELLA

QACHA’S NEK — The nationwide Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign launched today, with Qacha’sNek fully on board in a determined effort to protect children under five from preventable diseases.

Running until Friday, the campaign offers not just the MR vaccine but also the Oral Polio Vaccine, Vitamin A supplementation, and Albendazole for deworming, delivering a comprehensive package of child health services to the nation’s youngest.

Ahead of vaccination, local nurses conducted health talks to raise awareness and reassure parents. In villages like Mosaqane, the response was positive, with many parents showing a strong understanding of the benefits of vaccines.

At Maluma Preschool in Ha-Maluma, 22 children received vaccines. Village Health Worker (VHW) ’Mankoli Nkoli, who had expected 18 children, expressed satisfaction: “Four extra children who were visiting also got vaccinated. We worked well with all stakeholders to make this a success.”
